ABOUT THIS JOB:
RX USA is looking for a Conference Director who will lead a team of conference managers in the design, development, and delivery of high quality, innovative, engaging, and valuable conference programs for various RX event brands. The Conference Director will lead in developing a research-informed strategy including contributing ideas, identifying topics, trends, and speaker talent. The role will also build relationships with sponsors and collaborate on the content presented at the show. The Conference Director will collaborate with the event management, finance, marketing, sales, digital, and design teams to accomplish these goals for both face-to-face events as well as 365 digital offerings. The role will be required to identify opportunities for growth as well as efficiencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee conference managers to develop educational programs that are relevant and appealing to targeted audiences.
Identify opportunities for growth. Examples includes growth in the # of new conference attendees or the entrance into new segments.
Identify opportunities for the team to operate more efficiently and collaboratively.
Direct the development of conference programming strategy and conference marketing brief to align partner stakeholders including event, finance, operations, and marketing management.
Ensure conference program content, agendas, and sessions align with the overall event brand goals and growth objectives.
Research and follow industry trends to develop event topics and themes designed to grow the event business in-person and digitally to attract, engage and nurture target audiences year-round.
Socialize best practices and encourage their adoption.
Monitor activities against measures of success so they are consistently evaluated for ongoing improvement to maximize impact and effectiveness.
Co-manage the program advisory board with the Event Director to ensure relevant and compelling content outcomes.
Help build new advisory boards or recruit new members as needed.
Manage “call for speaker” or “call for content” recruitment, engagement, and other related activities designed to attract and engage best-in-class industry speakers.
Research, engage and build rapport with speakers, influencers, publicists, agents, and interested community experts to ensure that RX has access to the best talent and contributors throughout the year.
Work alongside sales and marketing to participate in client conversations around sponsored content creation opportunities and assist in managing sponsor-related content and sponsored speaker recruitment.
Guide and assist marketing team members to establish the 365-content strategy and related editorial calendar, as applicable.
Work with marketing and other team members to produce program overview and related marketing materials to promote conference programming.
Utilize project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, bringing them to completion within expected time frames and managing the development and completion of program elements within related timelines.
Utilizing a strong financial acumen, update event conference budgets, forecasts, and actuals. This includes coordinating reimbursement and payments to speakers.
Work collaboratively with event Operations to deliver an efficient but consistent quality onsite experience for attendees, sponsors, and speakers.
Help oversee and support event production onsite.
Travel to in-person events as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or additional equivalent experience
A minimum of five years of related work experience in conference management.
Ability to design event programs that increase audience engagement.
Ability to conduct in-depth topic and audience research and analysis.
Data-driven, growth-minded leader.
Customer focused with assertive, self-confident personality.
Financial acumen and P&L experience.
Ability to communicate and build rapport with potential speakers, key event partners and attendees at all levels.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task to manage multiple projects at the same time.
