RX Global (www.reedexhibitions.com) (RX) today announced that Gaby Appleton has been named as the company’s first Chief Digital Product Officer.
In this newly created role, Gaby will work across the global RX Global business, spanning 22 countries and over 400 events. She will be responsible for the company’s digital Strategy and Execution and will also lead the RX Digital Community. Gaby will report to Brian Brittain, Chief Operating Officer and Richard Mortimore, Chief Commercial Officer.

About Gaby Appleton
Gaby has extensive experience in digital transformation across multiple categories. For the past 6 months she has been Product Director for NHS Test and Trace in the UK, where she led the NHS Covid 19 contact tracing app, which was the second-most downloaded free app in the UK in 2020, as well as assisting with building various other digital products to support the fight against Covid. Prior to her secondment to the NHS, Gaby was Managing Director of Researcher Products at Elsevier where she was responsible for ScienceDirect and Mendeley, global products that help researchers to discover new knowledge, stay up to date, and showcase their work. Previously, she was Elsevier’s Global Director of Strategy and worked on the digital transformation of their Research and Health businesses. Before joining Elsevier, Gaby worked at McKinsey management consultants in their climate change practice, and as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble and Sainsbury’s.
Gaby has a first-class degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and in her spare time she plays touch rugby, competing at the World Cup in 2015 and 2019, and in the European Championships in 2017.
