SmartSpace, the in-house design and build service for RX Global UK, has won the 2020 Global Operations Award, beating three close-run finalists from Australia and France to the title.

Relaunched this year by the Operations Leadership Team, the Global Operations Award acknowledges and celebrates operational excellence within RX Global. The award is open to operations staff across the global business and is designed to recognize performance in one or more of the following areas: improving customer satisfaction; adding value through innovation; supporting growth; and quality of delivery.

12 strong entries were received this year. These were whittled down to four finalists who each gave a remote presentation to the Operations Leadership Team before the final votes were cast.

SmartSpace was singled out as the overall winner for providing innovative designs, all-inclusive and cost-effective packages, tailored to exhibitors’ budget and requirements. The team work closely with exhibitors to manage every aspect of the stand build, delivering outstanding results and exceptional service.

The other three finalists were:

RX Australia for Life Instyle Sydney 2020  – faced with finding a new venue for this boutique trade event for the retail industry the team built a 3000 m2 marquee structure outside the ICC Sydney, investing heavily in branding and styling, and connecting it seamlessly with the co-located Reed Gift Fair.

RX Global France for My Stand Maker – REF’s own in-house stand design and construction service which is currently being piloted on a number of REF events.

Reed Midem for Midem Beach – following Midem’s move from January to June dates, the team delivered a cool multipurpose concert space on the beach, placing the live performances at the heart of the market.

Reflecting on the overall quality of the entries, Michael Grant, Senior VP, Operations Group, RXUS and Chair of the leadership team said:  “Every nominee should take great pride in their submission and the work that went into it. Each is worthy in its own right and serves to showcase the great work our Operations teams do worldwide.”
