Elephant alert at LBF
London Book Fair (12-14 March) was a-buzz with authors, influencers and actors who took to the main-stage to discuss their latest books, careers, and creative inspirations. Among them were bestselling author and TikTok sensation Dr Julie Smith; entrepreneur, author, and host of the UK’s no.1 podcast ‘The Diary of a CEO’ Steven Bartlett; and actor and philanthropist Michael Sheen. Also spotted celebrating his 35th birthday amongst the 30,000+ attendees on the show floor was ‘Elmer the Elephant’. David McKee’s children’s books about the beloved patchwork elephant are among the most widely read of all time selling over 10 million copies worldwide.
Matthias Maurer touches down at FIBO
German ESA Astronaut Matthias Maurer shared some fascinating insights into his weightless fitness regime at FIBO, the world’s biggest fitness expo, held in Cologne in April. Maurer spent 177 days on the International Space Station during 2021-22 as part of the SpaceX Crew-3 mission. Two hours of cardio training, resistance training and electro muscle stimulation each day helped him to prevent muscle and bone loss in space. Back on earth, the lessons learned are being used to help inform patient rehabilitation and muscle loss in the elderly. Here he is, pictured with German actor and bodybuilder Ralf Moeller.
Flo Rida rocks JCK in Las Vegas
Grammy nominated hip-hop artist Flo Rida took over TAO Beach in Las Vegas for an electrifying performance at JCK Rocks 2024. The filled-to-capacity concert united the global jewellery community for an unforgettable night of celebration as the American singer treated JCK visitors and exhibitors to some of his biggest hits, including “Low,” “My House” and “Club Can’t Handle Me.” Over in the exhibit halls, the keynote line-up included legendary boxing icon and champion Sugar Ray Leonard, who drew fascinating parallels between achievements in athletics and business; and beloved American actor Henry Winkler, best known for playing Fonzie on the iconic TV show Happy Days.
Stranger Things happen at C2E2
85,000 fans of all ages filled Chicago’s McCormick Place for a weekend-long celebration of fandom at Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) in April. Headlining guests included “Stranger Things” Star Maya Hawke, “Hannibal” Co-Stars Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy, and “Ted Lasso” stars Phil Dunster and Cristo Fernandez. Not so long ago, the Ted Lasso stars were a regular sight around Richmond, home of RX’s UK HQ, where the series was filmed!
Xbox boss Phil Spencer to open PAX West
PAX West 2024 kicks off its 20th anniversary event in Seattle with a humdinger of an opening Storytime Speaker - Xbox boss Phil Spencer. The Microsoft Gaming CEO will take to the main stage on 30 August to deliver an informative and entertaining talk on his expansive career in the games industry, spanning 30 years and several Xbox console generations. Marin opens MIPIM
Every year MIPIM brings together the world’s property, investment, and political leaders to uncover solutions to the major challenges our cities face whilst driving forward the real estate industry. MIPIM 2024 was officially opened by Sanna Marin, former Prime Minister of Finland, who blazed a trail towards carbon neutrality, setting a blueprint for other countries to follow. The event attracted over 20,000 delegates from 90 countries, including investors managing over €4 trillion of assets.
HH Sheikh Hamdan gets down to business at ATM
ATM (Arabian Travel Market) 2024 welcomed His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai in May. During the event, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan chaired a meeting of The Executive Council and approved a series of major transport and tourism-related projects. The record-breaking edition showcased 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries, and attracted 47, 489 travel industry professionals from the Middle East and beyond.

Meet the original ‘Wimpy Kid’ at Sao Paulo Book Fair
Jeff Kinney, best-selling children’s author and illustrator of Diary of a Wimpy Kid is among the 300+ authors who will be celebrating the transformational power of books for all ages at the Sao Paulo International Book Fair in Anhembi from 6-16 September. Over 275 million copies of the Wimpy Kid books have sold globally, and the series has been developed into feature films. Steve Harvey to Headline MIP Africa 2024!
We’re excited to welcome Emmy Award-winning TV host, comedian, producer, and philanthropist Steve Harvey to MIP Africa at FAME Week Africa 2024 in Cape Town from 1-7 September 2024!

Chris Evans at New York Comic Con
Captain America star Chris Evans headed up a marvel of a panel at New York Comic Con in October, appearing alongside Guardians of the Galaxy gang Karen Gillan, Chukwudi Iwuji, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn and Pom Klementieff. Unable to talk about his film work due to the actor’s strike, Evans discussed his dog Dodger and his desire to return to Broadway. He also took the opportunity publicly announce to the NYCC audience his recent marriage to Portuguese actress, Alba Baptista!
Mo Abudu at Fame Week Africa
Recently named as The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Top International Women Executive in Entertainment,’ renowned Nigerian media mogul, television host, and entrepreneur Mo Abudu, gave the keynote address at Fame Week Africa’s ‘Women in Entertainment Power Breakfast’ in September. Mo described her visit to FAME Week as ‘an absolute blast!’ which left her feeling ‘incredibly inspired.’
Anthony Daniels at Comic Con Africa
From a galaxy far, far away, Anthony Daniels took to the Mainstage at Africa Comic Con in September to share his experiences of playing the lovable and worry-prone C-3PO in all nine episodes of the Star Wars main saga since 1977. It was a rare opportunity to meet the man behind the legendary droid, hear his captivating stories, and obtain autographs and photos.

Marc Lièvremont at APS
The 2023 Rugby Union World Cup came to the APS security event trade show in Porte de Versailles, Paris, in October in the shape of Marc Lièvremont, former French rugby union footballer and head coach of the French national rugby union team. Attendees were treated to an exclusive and informal interview with Marc about Leadership, the 2023 World Cup and the French team’s progress, followed by cocktails and photo opportunities.
Eva Longoria at MIPCOM
One of the most recognizable faces on television, Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria is also a producer, director, philanthropist, and advocate for women and Latinas. Delegates packed the Grand Auditorium at MIPCOM to hear Longoria and her long-time collaborator Cris Abrego announce the launch of Hyphenate Media Group which is focused on developing creator-led content with an inclusive approach and broad appeal.
Kate Mosse at the London Book Fair
Best-selling author and Founder of the Women’s Prize for Fiction Kate Mosse appeared at London Book Fair in April in conversation with author and former British TV presenter Louise Minchin. Straight off the back of touring her on-woman tour, Warrior Queens & Quiet Revolutionaries: How Women (Also) Built the World, Kate spoke about importance of championing women’s voices in books and the work that still needs to be done in this area.
Tim Peaks at Big Data LDN
Big Data LDN 2023’s conference was brought to a momentous close by Major Tim Peake, CMG, the first British European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut to visit the International Space Station (ISS). Tim spoke to a spellbound audience as he recounted the importance of data and particularly AI during his mission which saw him spend six months in orbit conducting more than 250 scientific experiments.

He also revealed his desire to visit North Korea for a future documentary.
Rt Hon Humza Yousaf at All-Energy UK
All Energy UK got off to a flying start in Glasgow in May with the Rt Hon Humza Yousaf MSP, the new First Minister of Scotland, speaking about his government’s energy strategy and the opportunities offered by hydrogen and offshore wind. Touring the event after his speech, Yousaf described All Energy UK as, “a hugely important conference that brings the best of current innovation right here in Scotland.”
