Eurogamer.net (ReedPop’s biggest website) has been named Media Brand of The Year at the 2022 MCV/Develop Awards.

Established 20 years ago, the MCV/Develop Awards commemorate the best creative and business talent in retail, publishing and development in the UK games industry. The shortlist was agreed by a panel of industry experts and Eurogamer was voted the winner by subscribers to MCV (the trade publication for the UK games industry) and Develop (the trade publication for the UK game development industry).

“This award is particularly special to us having been voted for by the people who make and market the games we write about” said Digital Editorial Director, Jon Hicks. “It shows the respect that they have for Eurogamer, which won out over broad range of rivals including global brand IGN, social-based Gaming Bible and YouTube channel RKG.”

“Our partner brand Video Games Chronicle was also nominated, which speaks to their credibility - they're considered alongside IGN and Eurogamer already, having built an internationally respected reputation for news reporting since they partnered with us to launch three years ago” Jon added.

Eurogamer.net was founded in September 1999 to cover PC multiplayer gaming, and has expanded to cover the full range of modern gaming, from console to tabletop and mobile. The site has built an internationally-respected reputation for its journalism and reporting, receiving multiple awards in the last decade, and spawned EGX – formerly the Eurogamer Expo, and now the UK’s largest gaming event.
