Alexandra Smyth has joined the RX Global Executive Leadership team as General Counsel with responsibility for uniting and overseeing the global legal function across the company.

Alexandra replaces Julie Goldweitz, who retired on June 30th after 27 years with RELX and RX Global.  She will report to Henry Udow, Chief Legal Officer, RELX PLC and Hugh Jones, RX CEO.

Alexandra has been with RELX since 2012, when she became the General Counsel, Corporate and M&A, working alongside the corporate finance team and overseeing the legal aspects of all acquisitions and disposals across RELX globally.   This role also expanded to include providing support on RELX corporate structure transactions (such as the corporate simplification involving the merger of the two listed parent companies in 2018) and supporting the RELX treasury function on European and US debt issuances.

Joining Alexandra, Allison Young is appointed Deputy General Counsel, RX Global and General Counsel, RX Global Americas, reporting to Alexandra.  In this role, Allison will support Alexandra in overseeing global legal operations and serve as chief legal counsel for the RX Global Americas region moving from her role as Associate General Counsel, RELX and RX Global US.
