- Drone detection technology, armor materials, and special uniforms for security and industrial protection were among the highlights.
Mexico City, April 22, 2024.- Expo Seguridad México, the leading event in Latin America focusing on showcasing products, services, and solutions for the protection of people, assets, and assets, achieved its objective of showcasing state-of-the-art technology and innovations presented by more than 360 exhibiting companies, while contributing to the professional development of security specialists from the public and private sectors.
This time, the organizing company, RX México, occupied more than twenty-four thousand square meters of exhibition space to host the 21st edition of Expo Seguridad México (ESM) and the 16th edition of Expo Seguridad Industrial (ESI), at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City, with the attendance of around 17,500 professionals who visited the international pavilions, showcases, and training sessions prepared for this annual event from April 16th to 18th.
"We exceeded visitor expectations, achieving a growth of over 15% in ESM and 20% in ESI, both compared to the previous year. The exhibition area increased by 15%, and we observed greater international participation this time. Also, thanks to our digital product offerings, we generated 110,000 leads for our exhibitors. This edition stood out for its innovative focus, reaching a business potential of $338.7 million dollars, reaffirming our commitment to excellence and advancement in the security industry," explained Laura Barrera, director of both events.
The management highlighted the participation of visitors who attended the academic program, designed almost entirely by SIA, who were willing to update themselves professionally with over 50 specialized speakers. Similarly, she highlighted the acceptance of the demonstration areas and the space allocated for drone flights, as part of the security solutions exhibited.
"We are pleased to see that the SIA Education Program was a success, and we will further strengthen it in the next edition. Likewise, we saw that the new areas and different pavilions were highly attended, which speaks to an active community with a desire to do business and network. Let us remember that collaboration and a passion for excellence lead us to create a brighter future," emphasized Laura Barrera.
On his part, Luiz Bellini, general director of RX México, said that ESM and ESI are crucial events for understanding and addressing the changing business landscape and the innovations presented. He also pointed out that the commitment of all participants is to evolve "alongside the needs of our customers, towards the digital transformation of operations, and ensure that 'face-to-face' interactions remain the heart of what we do; we leverage our experience as global leaders in exhibitions and business events to create connections and ecosystems that foster business growth."
Meanwhile, Don Erickson, chief executive officer of the Security Industry Association (SIA), expressed their strong confidence in the Mexican security industry, as nearly three out of every four respondents in the March-April 2024 Security Market Index (SMI) research report rated current business conditions as positive, and almost a third described them as 'excellent.' "This sector is evolving, and multiple disruptive factors are driving systemic changes," concluded Erickson.
"For our next edition, we anticipate growth of more than 10% both in the number of participating companies and in the square meters of exhibition space. Training will play a fundamental role in our events, as we will continue to promote high-level educational programs alongside the second edition of the SIA Education Program. Thanks to the successful results of this edition, we have secured the main associations in the sector, and we are in the process of establishing new partnerships that will enrich and grow verticals such as 'Safety & Fire', industrial segments, and law enforcement," Laura Barrera concluded.
An Exhibition with a Cause
This year, the first Pavilion and Charity Mascot event was held, which was enthusiastically received by visitors, as all the mascot pieces were sold, reflecting the success of the initiative. The proceeds were entirely allocated to the National Shelter Network, which promoted its work during the event. Additionally, partnerships were established with security sector companies, aiming to collaborate in the protection of women, girls, and children in vulnerable situations.
"By joining forces with the National Shelter Network, we are reinforcing our commitment to the safety and protection of those who need it most. Together, we work to build a safer and fairer future for everyone," concluded Laura Barrera.
See you in May 2025!
