WTM London – where travel careers take off

For anyone trying to break into travel, WTM London is one of the best places to start. Its long-running partnership with the Institute of Travel & Tourism (ITT) on the popular ITT Future You forum has connected thousands of students with employers, mentors, and real career opportunities since 2009. Today, it’s one of WTM’s biggest attractions, drawing more than 500 future professionals each year.

“With many Gen Z demanding purposeful careers  ̶  sustainable, culturally aware and socially impactful  ̶  we wanted to show how the industry is adapting and where the most exciting opportunities are emerging” explained WTM Event Director Chris Chapman-Carter.

Held on 6 November, the 2025 forum explored ‘Reimagining Travel in a Changing World’ speakers urged attendees to embrace the “messy” parts of their career journeys. Skift’s EMEA MD Kate Irwin shared how missteps and bold leaps shaped her path, while young panellists offered relatable stories  ̶  from sending out 200 applications to overcoming visa challenges. The session ended with networking opportunities, giving students instant, meaningful connections. The key takeaways? Show up, be curious, stay driven!

Eurasia Packaging İstanbul – spotlight on young designers

For design students, winning a major design competition can be career-defining  ̶  boosting credibility, enriching portfolios and opening doors to industry leaders. That’s the opportunity offered at Eurasia Packaging Istanbul, where emerging talent shines alongside global brands.

In 2025, the fair once again joined forces with the Turkish Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD) for the 21st Packaging Design National Student Competition, drawing 137 entries and showcasing 18 finalists. Beyond trophies, winners received cash prizes and an ASD & RX TÜYAP Education Scholarship, supporting their professional development while elevating their visibility in the global design community.

Top winners also advanced to international stages, including the WPO WorldStar Student Awards and the APF AsiaStar Competition, giving Turkish design talent global exposure.

“The competition has evolved into a talent discovery platform where students display their first professional portfolios, meet industry insiders, and pitch fresh ideas,” said RX General Manager Berkan Öner. “The standout themes in 2025 - sustainability, functionality, innovative materials, and brand storytelling - reflect exactly where the industry is heading.”

Pollutec – a hub for environmental careers

As the environmental sector accelerates, new jobs and skills are emerging faster than ever. To support this growth, Pollutec 2025 launched the Pollutec Talent Hub - a dedicated space for green jobs, training, and recruitment designed to guide students, job seekers, and career changers into environmental careers.

“Environmental careers in France are booming,” noted Event Director Anne-Manuèle Hébert. “Nearly one in five new hires now supports the green economy, with more than 700,000 job openings. Pollutec helps talent understand where the sector is heading, what skills are in demand and how to prepare for the future.”

Co-created with the French media organisations, Actu Environnement, the Talent Hub offered training, recruitment, and real-world insight, featuring:

- Job Dating – smart matchmaking between job seekers and hiring companies

- The Employment Wall – curated job listings with support for scheduling interviews onsite

- Career Conferences – free sessions on new skills, emerging roles, and sector trends

As a direct outcome, 35 candidates entered recruitment processes immediately after the show. With the green economy expanding rapidly, Pollutec provides one of Europe’s most impactful gateways into sustainability careers.

MCM Comic Con - Empowering creative careers

Gen Z is bringing fresh energy and creativity to the workplace, and Europe’s biggest fan convention  ̶  MCM Comic Con London  ̶  is helping them break through career barriers with the MCM Scholarship, now in its third year.

“We’ve seen a significant shift towards a younger audience at MCM Comic Con,” explained Product Marketing Manager Alice Edwards, the driving force behind the scheme. “Many are aspiring creatives who feel intimidated by financial hardship, lack of industry connections, or distance from London. Opening doors to creative careers is something we’re passionate about at RX.”

Three scholarship winners enjoyed free entry for all three days of MCM Comic Con London last May, a three-night hotel stay near ExCeL London, a £500 cash prize, and a bespoke itinerary tailored to their career goals, connecting them with industry leaders and mentors.

The winners included Sudipta Patra, a comic book illustrator and children’s author from Northern Ireland; Ash Norman, a video game concept artist aiming for a career in game development; and Muminah Koleoso, an aspiring author and poet from Scotland who said of her scholarship: “This was such an incredible experience, as a writer and creative, I came away feeling encouraged and inspired to keep pursuing this path.”
