Our Ten Sustainability Wins in 2025

Our Ten Sustainability Wins in 2025

1. We Published Our First Sustainability Report

On World Environment Day 2025, we published our first comprehensive Sustainability Report - a big milestone for us.

It’s more than a snapshot of what we’ve done. It sets out clearly how we govern sustainability, how we measure progress and where we’re heading next. Most importantly, it turns our commitments into shared accountability.

By putting our progress out there transparently, we hope to help normalise sustainability reporting across the events industry - and encourage others to begin or build on their own journey.

2. We Built an Engaged, Award-Winning Culture that Drives Sustainability

For us, inclusion isn’t separate from sustainability - it strengthens it. When people feel empowered and included, they collaborate better and turn ideas into action.

In 2025, this approach was recognised with the UFI Sustainable Development Award, alongside multiple Comparably Best Company awards and a shortlisted AEO People’s Award.

Supported by our Guide to Inclusive Events, our teams are making smarter decisions, working more closely with suppliers and delivering better carbon outcomes across our events.

3. We Launched Our Events Sustainability Scorecard

One of our biggest steps forward this year was launching our Events Sustainability Scorecard, led by our CEO.

This practical tool helps guide real-world decisions - from venue and material choices to conversations with partners. It embeds clear expectations into event planning and delivery, so sustainability isn’t an add-on - it’s part of how we work.

Our Net Zero commitments are now becoming day-to-day action, with teams empowered to measure, manage and reduce impact at every event.

“Sustainability is now embedded in how we plan, deliver and evaluate our events… Supported by a robust sustainability scorecard, our teams are empowered and accountable for measuring, managing and reducing impact...”
- Jonathan Heastie, Portfolio Director, RX UK

4. We Brought Industries Together to Move Faster on Sustainability

We know progress happens faster when people work together. In 2025, we used our events to bring industries into practical, solutions-focused conversations about sustainability.

At events such as Arabian Travel Market and MIPIM, sustainability became a live discussion - aligning perspectives, sharing evidence and building collective momentum.

Across our travel portfolio, WTM Africa’s Responsible Tourism Awards recognised changemakers across the continent, helping set practical benchmarks others can follow.

By creating trusted spaces for dialogue, we help industries move forward together - and scale impact beyond individual events.

5. We Launched a Global Sustainability Training Programme

In 2025, we launched our global sustainability training programme to turn ambition into everyday confidence.

Built around real event scenarios, it equips our teams to make informed sustainability decisions under real commercial pressures. Co-delivered by global and regional leaders, it has already reached 160+ Event Directors and nominated colleagues worldwide.

The result? Teams who feel confident leading sustainability conversations, influencing partners and delivering consistently on the ground.

6. We Developed Our Own Carbon Calculators

Accurately measuring carbon at scale is one of the biggest challenges in event sustainability - so we built our own solution.

In 2025, our teams developed in-house carbon calculators for events and exhibitor stands, embedding robust data processes directly into event delivery. These tools make carbon accounting practical and accessible for non-experts.

At WEPACK Southeast Asia 2025, more than 160 exhibitors completed the stand calculator - showing that credible measurement at scale is possible.

We’re also leading the co-development of a standardised venue energy and waste reporting template, expected to be adopted by UFI and the Net Zero Carbon Events initiative - helping move the industry toward consistent, comparable data.

7. We Turned Sustainability Education into Practical Action

This year, we focused on making sustainability education more practical and applied.

Instead of high-level messaging, our events increasingly offer hands-on guidance, expert sessions and clear “how-to” support. From in-cosmetics Asia’s Sustainability Theatre to exhibitor guidance at REEDUCA (RX France), we’re helping participants build real capability.

The impact goes beyond the event floor - giving people the knowledge and confidence to act in their own organisations.

8. We Designed Events with Less Waste and More Circular Thinking

Reducing waste takes intention - so we’ve designed it into how we deliver events.

At Waste Expo Australia 2025, a “Journey to Net Zero Waste” programme made circularity visible through initiatives like a Zero Waste Café and reusable serviceware.

At ISC East and ISC West, we partnered with MeetGreen to improve recycling and composting outcomes and introduced an Exhibitor Sustainability Guide to support better material choices.

Across RX Africa, we’re standardising simple changes - reusing lanyards, switching to fabric-based signage and eliminating plastic bottles.

These practical steps show that circularity isn’t theoretical - it can be built into event delivery at scale.

9. We Used Our Events to Accelerate the Net Zero Transition

Our events are platforms for industries shaping the net zero transition - and we’re strengthening how we support that role.

At All Energy Australia 2025, we improved carbon data capture across exhibitors, stands and show operations, strengthening carbon modelling while supporting renewable energy deployment.

At World Future Energy Summit 2025, governments, industry leaders and innovators came together to accelerate clean energy, grid decarbonisation and climate solutions.

We’re working to ensure our platforms not only showcase solutions - but also model lower-impact delivery.

10. We Celebrated and Rewarded Sustainability Leadership

Progress builds momentum when it’s recognised.

In 2025, we celebrated sustainability leadership both internally and across our platforms. At MIPCOM Cannes, the MIP SDG Awards recognised content creators advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Inside RX, our Building Business Awards celebrated Net Zero Heroes - teams and individuals driving smarter event delivery and carbon reduction.

By recognising action and sharing success, we’re helping sustainability feel energising, achievable and worth being part of.
