Manila, Philippines, 23 May 2025: The RX Philippines Conference and Seminar team, in partnership with My Children’s House of Hope Bahay Bata 127 Inc., hosted a powerful and emotional community initiative on May 6, 2025, at the RXPH Manila Office. The event, titled CSE RX CARES: Crafting Stories Through the Power of Art – Where Imperfection and Compassion Collide, celebrated art as a medium of healing, courage, and community.
From its early preparations to its lasting impact, the initiative demonstrated RXPH’s commitment to creating meaningful social change for its communities and fostering inclusive spaces for expression, learning, and connection.
The event was led by Conference Executive Marie Caras and supported by supervisor Andi Dianzon, who guided the team in transforming the venue into an inviting exhibition space.
The centerpiece of the event was a deeply moving art exhibition, featuring vibrant canvases, intricate masks, and handmade jewellery created during therapeutic sessions. These works were expressions of resilience and healing - especially from members of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities, as well as abuse survivors.
Key highlights included:
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Led by Andi Dianzon (RX), Topi Carlos (Operations Manager, RX), and Ana Maria Dizon (Executive Director and Co-Founder, My Children’s House of Hope), the exhibit was formally opened. In her remarks, Ms. Dizon shared heartfelt gratitude for the platform provided to showcase the talents and journeys of the Deaf community.
Sign Language Workshop
Facilitated by Deaf youth leaders and interpreted by Teacher Leny Rose Salazar, participants were taught the basics of sign language and even created their own sign names - fostering empathy and communication without barriers.
Inspirational Performances
A signed performance of “I See You Lord” by Aiza Seguerra opened the program, followed by a powerful interpretation of “The Journey” by Lea Salonga, reinforcing the emotional and transformative power of non-verbal artistic expression.
Community Support
Local social enterprise Overdoughs generously donated art materials, further underscoring the spirit of collaboration and inclusive employment by empowering the Deaf community through creativity and livelihood.
“It was incredibly moving to witness the enthusiasm of the children and the overwhelming support from the community,” said Mark Lwin, Managing Director of RELX Philippines. “Moments like these remind us of the power of shared experiences - they foster learning, build connection, and create a strong sense of purpose among everyone involved.”
Olet Argonia of RELX Enabled, an Employee Resource Group, commented; "This day has ignited a spark of awareness that will continue to shine. It is proof that true strength and progress are borne out of inclusivity, empathy, and collective action."
The event welcomed 47 participants and received generous donations from both attendees and remote supporters - testament to the community’s shared commitment to inclusive and compassionate change.
As RXPH continues to integrate creativity and care into its CSR initiatives, events like this remind us that every voice matters, every story has value, and together, we can build a more inclusive and compassionate world.
