About the role:     

As Data Platforms Lead within Global Technology (GTech) Operations at RX, you will oversee how data is managed across the organisation’s platforms and integrations. You will ensure visibility of where data resides, how it flows, and how it can be optimised to meet business needs while aligning with compliance requirements.

You will work closely with the Development Teams as RX expands this service to the organisation, the Data Privacy team, providing insights on data risks, improvements, and technical solutions to support the ongoing data platform, including compliance. At the same time, you’ll provide input into the strategy of our data platforms, guiding improvements, ensuring scalability, and recommending best practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Data Oversight & Management

    • Maintain visibility of where all organisational data resides across platforms, applications, and integrations.

    • Champion best practices and business needs so that data is stored, transferred, and managed.

    • Oversee the data lake and AWS platforms to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.

    • Recommend improvements to data flows, integrations, and architecture.

  • Compliance Partnership-

    • Collaborate with the Data Privacy team to support global compliance initiatives.

    • Provide insight on data handling, risks, and technical considerations to help the business stay compliant.

    • Identify areas where compliance can be strengthened through process or technology enhancements.

  • Leadership -

    • Act as the custodian of enterprise data platforms, aligning them with business priorities.

    • Collaborate with 3rd party support vendors to grow this service within GTech Operations.

    • Advise leadership on opportunities to improve data usage, cost optimisation, and governance maturity.

    • Stay current on emerging data technologies and recommend innovations where relevant.

    • Foster collaboration across IT, Legal, Finance, and business units to embed strong data practices.

  • Continuous Improvement & Reporting-

    • Report on KPIs for data quality, availability, and compliance-related risks.

    • Monitor trends in platform usage and anticipate future data capacity or compliance needs.

    • Drive continuous improvement across platforms and processes.

    • Manage demand and capacity.

  • Cost Optimisation-

    • Identify opportunities for cost savings. Forecast budget needs and provide recommendations for future purchases.

        Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing enterprise data platforms across multiple systems.

  • Experience with ServiceNow or a similar ITSM tool

  • Hands-on familiarity with AWS data services (S3, Glue) and SQL experience

  • Experience with the AWS Databricks Platform is ideal

  • Experience with AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Infrastructure as code (IaC)

  • Strong understanding of GDPR and data compliance processes (working in partnership with privacy/legal teams).

  • Experience working in a complex, multi-platform, global environment.

  • ITIL or equivalent experience/certification

Leadership Skills

  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence data strategy.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, able to recommend compliant solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Skilled at coordinating with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Additional Experience & Skills

  • Exposure to the environment and system configuration, and testing.

  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • Knowledge of operating procedures and when they should be created, changed, or updated.

  • Understanding of development and deployment methods.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours when needed.
