About the role:

The Senior Quality Test Engineer I is responsible for delivering high-quality, accessible digital experiences through an automation-first and quality-driven approach. The role focuses on UI test automation, accessibility testing, AI-assisted quality engineering, and risk-based testing, partnering with Product and Engineering teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and inclusive product releases. The engineer plays a key role in advancing testing practices from manual-heavy execution to intelligent, automation-assisted quality engineering.

Responsibilities:

• 6+ years of Quality Engineering / QA experience with a strong focus on test automation and web application testing.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for UI, API, and regression testing.
• Apply risk-based testing techniques to prioritize testing efforts and improve release confidence.
• Execute automated and exploratory testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional, usability, and accessibility requirements.
• Leverage AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve test design, test data creation, automation development, and testing efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and Architects to ensure requirements are testable, complete, and aligned to quality objectives.
• Analyse defects, logs, monitoring data, and test results to identify risks and support root cause analysis.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of automation frameworks, quality practices, and engineering standards across teams.

Requirements:

Must-Have Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with UI test automation frameworks such as Playwright/Selenium.
• Proven experience in Accessibility Testing, including knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards, accessibility validation tools (e.g., Axe, Lighthouse), and inclusive design principles.
• Experience testing modern web applications, user journeys, responsive interfaces, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Strong understanding of API testing, REST services, and SQL/data validation.
• Experience implementing automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted testing tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT to accelerate quality engineering activities.
• Cloud platform experience (AWS or similar).
• Strong analytical, debugging, defect investigation, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence quality outcomes across cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Performance testing experience and knowledge of observability/monitoring tools.
• Exposure to security testing concepts.
• Experience championing accessibility and automation best practices across multiple teams.
