ECSE 2024 is Renewed: Rise of eCommerce in Mexico, Opportunities, and Alternatives

Mexico City, June 17, 2024 - ECSE 2024, the eCommerce Summit & Expo event to be held on October 22 and 23 at Centro Citibanamex, is being renewed, with details unveiled at the cocktail event “The Rise of eCommerce in Mexico – Opportunities and Alternatives” alongside experts on the topic.

In Mexico, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of retail eCommerce sales between 2024 and 2028 will be 11.71%, according to Statista Research Department. eCommerce has become the preferred shopping channel for millions of consumers worldwide. Such is the magnitude of this market that, in Mexico alone, its value exceeded $33 billion in 2023. This positions Mexican eCommerce as the second most important online market in Latin America, surpassed only by Brazil.

Given this growth, ECSE 2024 is being renewed as the ideal meeting point where experts, decision-makers, startups, professionals, and companies with online commerce solutions will gather to share strategies, innovation, trends, and knowledge. ECSE 2024, organized by RX, is the premier face-to-face event bringing together the community of professionals in Mexico. This year's new edition is expected to host over 40 exhibitors, more than 1,300 attendees, over 40 conferences, more than 100 business meetings, and over 5,000 leads, all within an exhibition area and conference rooms.

For Carolina Méndez, General Director of ECSE 2024, the future of eCommerce is here. She states, "We are very excited to facilitate eCommerce through our renewed event that not only brings together industry leaders and experts but also focuses on the latest innovations and trends. We provide a platform for exchanging groundbreaking ideas and fostering collaborations that inspire concrete actions and make a real difference in the world of eCommerce."

Méndez mentions that the renewal of ECSE is focused on four main pillars:

Renewal of image and on- and offline experience: The new image reflects a more dynamic, modern, and technological approach. The exhibition floor, with its activations, stages, institutional spaces, and even this cocktail event, are examples of what we want the new eCommerce Summit to reflect.

Renewal of audiences: The degree of penetration of eCommerce solutions varies by industry, which is why it is important to reach those industries where the use of these solutions is still moderate. Leveraging our reach as RX, we will be inviting leaders from three growing industries: Beauty, many of whom are part of the nearly 300 brands that exhibit at Expo Beauty Show; Hardware, inviting over 1,000 companies that exhibit at Expo Nacional Ferretera; and Health and Wellness, in collaboration with Expo Farmacias. Our goal is to bring new audiences with fresh business opportunities for our ECSE exhibitors.

Renewal of content and formats: An experience that goes beyond business means that not all our content is technical or theoretical; it also requires spaces for diversity and practical knowledge. Therefore, we will launch three initiatives: eCommerce Spotlight: Cases in Action; Wine & Connect; and expansion to 5 stages for different audiences.

Renewal of exhibitors: ECSE will continue to feature the leaders and pioneers of eCommerce, but it is time to keep growing together in this new stage of our eCommerce Summit & Expo. We invite you to join this Renewal of ECSE so that together we can continue to evolve and grow eCommerce in Mexico, emphasized Méndez.

It is worth mentioning that the 2024 edition will feature the presence of former footballer Miguel Layún, who will be one of the Keynote Speakers and will share his insights on how several of his activities are involving entrepreneurship and eCommerce.

Luiz Bellini, General Director of RX Mexico, comments: "This renewal of ECSE responds to the fact that—after 7 years and 5 editions in Mexico—the eCommerce industry in Mexico has evolved, and it was natural for ECSE to evolve and renew along with it. Over the past few months, we have been working to strengthen ourselves as a neutral platform where players in the eCommerce ecosystem come together on a journey beyond business."

The Voice of the Experts

At this cocktail event, Juan Manuel Enríquez, CEO of eCommerce Mexico; Armando Vélez, Head of eCommerce at SkillNet Solutions; and Raúl Bustamante, Cross-Border eCommerce Professional, will discuss "The Rise of eCommerce in Mexico – Opportunities and Alternatives."

QUOTES:

"Our country is experiencing an ideal moment for companies engaged in B2B with an incredible opportunity to invest in eCommerce for their entire distribution chain, self-service, digital channel, process automation, data generation, and exponential growth in the short to medium term, where new generations are already seeking a personalized B2C shopping experience on a B2B buyers' portal": Juan Manuel Enríquez, Founder of eCommerce Mexico.

"Mexico is experiencing a unique moment in eCommerce, as it is the fastest growing globally due to the ongoing adoption and growth of both digital supply and demand. Therefore, we have not yet reached the ceiling of eCommerce potential. Additionally, we have the historic opportunity of nearshoring due to the decoupling from the Asian region because of political, economic, and social issues. With all this, I believe it is crucial for companies, especially small and medium-sized ones, to seize the momentum and strengthen their digital channels by investing in technology, employees, tools, and providing unique shopping experiences, to avoid being overshadowed by large pure players and marketplaces. It's time to bet on brands and D2C models to boost competitiveness, create new business models, and strengthen a competitive eCommerce ecosystem in Mexico for the coming years": Armando Vélez, Director of e-Commerce Latam at SkillNet Solutions.

"As eCommerce continues its rapid evolution in Mexico, the landscape offers unprecedented opportunities for growth and innovation. There is great potential for Mexican companies to expand internationally by leveraging technology. My vision is a future where eCommerce not only continues to grow but also embraces sustainability and global integration. To achieve this, my recommendation is for companies to invest in technology and focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. By doing so, they will not only compete effectively in the global market but also meet the growing demand for local and sustainable products": Raúl Bustamante, Cross-Border eCommerce Consultant.

Finally, at the "We have #ECSElentes news for you" cocktail event of ECSE 2024, there will be discussions on strategies, innovation and trends, digital marketing, payments and transfers, platform and technology, and logistics and cross-border, as part of the world of eCommerce in our country.
