The Commercial Analyst will play a key role in closely collaborating with Portfolio Directors, Exhibition Directors, and their teams. Their responsibilities include overseeing market intelligence gathering, tracking emerging trends, evaluating competitor activity, analyzing customer insights, and coordinating the pursuit of substantial commercial growth opportunities for our flagship brands. Moreover, this role involves active participation in sales target setting and governance processes, as well as providing valuable support for mergers and acquisitions.
Responsibilities:
(50 %) Strategic Business Development and Market Analysis
Collaborate with event teams to provide industry research, market mapping, latest and upcoming trends, competitor analysis, and strategic growth initiatives for existing brands.
Facilitate the development of high-quality business growth plans, including exploring sector adjacencies and geo-clones and event-specific growth opportunities, such as value chain extensions.
Evaluate emerging product and technology trends to identify key markets for future product development.
Gather sector-specific business intelligence data through public information, industry reports, and purchased sources, guiding strategic priorities, growth plans, and resource allocation.
Oversee competitor activity monitoring and industry trend analysis to support decision-making processes.
Maintain regular communication with competitors, customers, and suppliers, attend competitive events, and conduct qualitative research to stay informed about current trends.
Collaborate with the CI manager to explore new business delivery models, potential future revenue streams, and translate insights into winning strategies and execution plans.
(25 %) Sales Incentives, Target Setting, and Governance
Assist sales leadership and finance teams to set ambitious, yet achievable, sales targets for individual sales representatives. Ensure targets are aligned with overall company goals and financial projections.
Establish sales governance policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to sales compensation plans, target attainment, and other performance-related guidelines.
Proactively propose and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of sales incentives and target setting.
(25 %) Mergers & Acquisitions
Assist in gathering and reviewing detailed information about the target shows, identifying risks and opportunities.
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including valuation modeling using financial metrics and comparable company analysis.
Assist on deal structuring and ensuring it is aligned with strategic objectives, while minimizing risks.
Ensure regulatory compliance with M&A laws and regulations.
Assist in post-merger integration planning and stakeholder management.

Qualifications/Experience:
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent experience) minimum, in related fields – Business, Finance, Economics, Science, Mathematics.
- Proven commercial, business intelligence and market analysis experience including successful track record of working with teams on customer-led growth initiatives including new product development and strategy development.
- Experience of working in large, matrix-style, complex corporate environments is a plus.
