This position is based in our Newark, CT office and follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week in office.

About the Role:

The VP, Chief Financial Officer RX US is a senior, high-visibility financial leadership role accountable for driving performance across the U.S. business. This position calls for a forward-thinking, proactive, and commercially focused leader who will support business development while accelerating revenue and profit growth. Partnering closely with the US Hub President and the US SLT, the role ensures financial integrity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, while aligning U.S. objectives with RX Global strategy and priorities. The position has end-to-end responsibility for financial planning and analysis, accounting, reporting, financial operations, and risk management.

 

Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership

·         Serve as the primary financial leader for RX US, providing clear strategic and operational direction to the U.S. finance team, including procurement.

·         Act as a trusted advisor to the RX US Hub President and U.S. leadership on financial strategy, growth initiatives (launches, new segments, products), pricing, cost management, and investment ROI.

·         Partner with commercial and operational leaders to enable growth initiatives, optimize resource allocation, and improve profitability and margins.

·         Align U.S. financial objectives with RX Global and RELX corporate strategies and priorities.

·         Contribute as a member of the RX Global FLG, providing insight, solutions, and collaboration on key enterprise challenges.

·         Build, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams; attract and retain top finance talent.

·         Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, commercial acumen, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Financial Planning & Analysis and Business Partnering

·         Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning for US Events and overhead cost management centers. 

·         Deliver actionable insights through robust financial modeling and scenario analysis to support event‑level and divisional decision‑making.

·         Monitor and review forward‑looking performance indicators, including sales tracking and sensitivity analysis.

·         Play a central role in shaping and executing business strategy with the U.S. Hub President by influencing decisions through data‑driven recommendations, best practices, and market insights.

·         Lead financial evaluation of acquisition opportunities and oversee the integration of acquired businesses.

Operational Finance & Performance

·         Drive cost optimization, improve margins, and maximize return on investment across the business.

·         Oversee monthly and year‑end close processes and core accounting activities, including offshore operations.

·         Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial results, forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans to RX Group Finance.

·         Proactively lead process improvements across finance and adjacent functions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

·         Take an active leadership role in the Oracle Fusion implementation scheduled for launch in Q1 2027.

 

Governance & Compliance

·         Ensure full compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and RX Group and RELX policies.

·         Serve as the senior owner for risk and compliance, managing business and information risks and ensuring adherence to governance requirements.

 

Requirements:

·         10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in a dynamic, high-growth business environment

·         Demonstrated experience across both FP&A and accounting functions

·         Proven track record of driving growth and commercial performance, ideally within a data-driven, customer-focused organization

·         Experience operating across international markets

·         Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, including evaluation and integration activities

·         Demonstrated success building, leading, and developing high-performing teams

·          CPA and/or advanced degree preferred.

 

Skills/Competencies:

·         Strong business acumen with the ability to influence and advise at the executive level

·         Commercially minded, with deep understanding of products, markets, and value drivers to shape strategy

·         Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities

·         Ability to deliver strategic insights through data-driven financial modeling and analysis of market and financial trends

·         Skilled negotiator who maintains objectivity and constructively addresses complex or sensitive issues

·         Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory environments

·         Proficiency in ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred

U.S. National Base Pay Range: $156,700 - $290,900. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
