What personal achievement are you most proud of?

My son. Bringing up children is not easy and every stage has its challenges, but all you can ever hope for is that they grow up to be good people. My son has grown up to be a very creative, smart and kind man and knowing that I played a significant part in that makes me very proud.

If you only had one album to play which one would it be?

Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder.  One of the very first albums I ever bought myself, and I still have the original vinyl, albeit a little battered, I never get bored of listening to it.

What recent podcast would you recommend?

The Missing Crypto Queen – a true and staggering documentary about deceit. A woman persuades millions to join her bitcoin cause and part with their money; she then disappears along with all their money. People refuse to believe it’s a scam and despite evidence to the contrary they keep investing.

If you could time travel, where would you go?

I grew up in Cornwall, so I would go back to my school summer holidays and what felt like endless weeks of carefree sunny days on the beach, sailing, swimming in the outdoor lido, learning to surf and being so happy to be outdoors all the time. However, this time around I would really appreciate every precious second of it!

What is the most memorable event you have ever attended, and why?

The Academy Awards / The Oscars, in Los Angeles.  Apart from the glamour, the wall-to-wall movie stars (who are all a lot smaller than they appear on screen), the continual over the top decadence, the logistical precision behind the scenes was pure brilliance. I was hosting 40 clients at the event, with the finale being Elton John’s annual Aids Foundation party. Whilst steering 40 people through a very tight schedule was definitely not without its challenges, it was an amazing experience and without question my most memorable event. Finally, chatting to the lovely Morgan Freeman at the bar topped it all off.

What makes you proud to work at RX?

Without hesitation, my team. Whilst we are in two locations, the UK and Brazil, we work as one team. They are all passionate and motivated people who love what they do, which shows in the quality and delivery of every event. They make me proud to work at RX, every day.

What do you like most about your job?

Having ILTM recognised as a key part of the luxury travel industry and working across the world delivering events to one of the best industries in the world takes some beating! The travel industry has weathered storms before, but the pandemic has delivered a catastrophic blow, this current crisis may transform travel but it will never stop it.  Once travel is in your blood it never leaves you so to work within the travel industry is a definitely a privilege.
