Spotlight on... Claire Jeon, Sales & Marketing Specialist, Korea


Who inspires you? 

My daughter is the most powerful inspiration in my world over the past three years. Even she encourages me every day that “Play” fun games with your friends at work. It's a spell for me to have fun working with my team. 

What TV show/movie are you ashamed to admit you love? 

Whenever I'm feeling down, I watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The scene where Harry enters the auditorium of Hogwarts for the first time is the most moving scene. 

What’s your favourite app we might not have heard of? 

Karrot! Karrot is a second-hand trading app that I look at almost every day to buy or sell stuff. The word for carrot (Karrot) in Korean is ‘Daangn’, and Daangn is an abbreviation of Korean for ‘near you’. So, Carrot (Karrot) Market mean a market near you. It is the most popular app among Koreans to the extent that people now say "Are you a carrot?". I’ve heard that it has recently entered the global market. I hope you become a carrot too! 

If you had 25 hours a day, how would you use your extra time? 

If I had one more hour, I would create YouTube content every day. I would use that one hour a day as precious time communicating with my followers. I have a lot of ideas, but I haven't started yet. (This is my excuse!)  

What work achievement are you most proud of and why? 

The global pandemic continues to take a toll on our event industry as well as the world as a whole. Nevertheless, I and my team were able to deliver INTERPHEX KOREA online successfully and were able to satisfy the needs of customers craving for business through conferences and matchmaking. 

How do you see the future of events, post pandemic? 

We have developed platforms that transcend time and space, such as digital, hybrid and metaverse. These platforms will complement the future of face to face events and make it a more active business arena.  However, I miss the crowded exhibition halls, and can’t wait to return to live events. 

What makes you proud to work at RX? 

The opportunity to collaborate with our global communities and talented partners has doubled my capabilities and has been a shortcut to improving customer satisfaction. RX has experts in every field of exhibitions who give me the confidence that I am becoming an exhibition specialist myself.
