1. If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be?
I wish I could paint well. Painting is an artistic self-expression and can be a good leisure activity or a way to spend quality fun time with my son.
2. What is your favourite meal and where would you most like to eat it?
My favourite meal is Chongqing Hot Pot which is the famous local speciality of my hometown Chongqing. It’s very spicy and you can’t stop eating it once you have started! And of course I’d like to eat it in Chongqing with the original taste and the unique Hot Pot ambience.
3. What is your most used emoji?
An emoji I call ‘innocent grin’. I often use it for self-mockery or for modesty when receiving a compliment on WeChat.
4. If you could time travel, where would you go?
I’d like to go back to China’s Tang Dynasty (about A.D 700) which was a prosperous period in Chinese history, with very open culture exchanges and trading with other countries and nationalities. Women enjoyed equal social status as men and were very fashionable, confident and bold in dressing, make-up and hairstyle. Various forms of arts were highly developed such as poetry, music, dance, painting and so on. Great poets like Li Bai and Du Fu were also born in the Tang Dynasty. I’d like to see and experience living in the splendid Tang Dynasty.
5. What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Have a must-to-do list for each day. Divide your work hours into blocks if possible: highly concentrated time on today’s must-to-do; meetings and talks time; email time; and also reserve some retreat time for digesting information, thinking and exploring.
6. How do you see the future of events, post pandemic?
The pandemic has brought about unprecedented challenge for the exhibition industry as well as for our customers. However, it also has brought people and the industry closer. Greater empathy and solidarity have been witnessed at our events and in our communities. We see industry leaders and influencers contribute ideas and share solutions and resources to deal with the challenge and minimize the impact. We see our visitors show great patience and understanding when they have to wait for longer time to comply with onsite anti-COVID-19 measures before entering the hall. We see exhibitors more attentive to every visitor walking into their booths and show great appreciation for our matchmaking services. So post pandemic, apart from the digital transformation of events, I believe that leading events should continue to enhance customer engagement and evolve into a natural hub of industry community by building business and emotional connections, co-creating quality content and driving sustainable growth throughout the year by breaking the limits of show days and venue.

There are many things that I take pride in working at RX Global. I think I’m most proud of my co-workers who are talented and creative, who pursue high standards with a can-do attitude, who show strong ownership and tacit understanding in collaboration, no matter how big or small the how, in established events or ad hoc projects, whether in China or across borders.
