Volunteering

At RX, caring is at the heart of who we are. Through RXCares, every RXer has the chance to give back and make a difference - with two paid volunteer days each year to support a cause close to their heart.

Every September, we celebrate Cares Month, a special time when RXers around the world join forces to volunteer, fundraise, and create lasting positive change in their communities.

Whether it’s taking part in a team challenge, supporting a local charity, running a fundraising event, or using your paid Cares Days to volunteer with a cause you care about - every act of kindness adds up to something incredible.

Together, we make a difference. Together, we care. 💙

 

 

2025 Highlights:

- 40 RELX Finance colleagues walked 17 miles along the Thames, raising £6,350 for Macmillan Cancer Support and sparking a new annual charity tradition.

- Our Shenzhen colleagues ran interactive anti-drug games with students at Luohu Middle School and joined local partners in a “Summer Cooling” campaign, handing out 100 arm coolers and crates of water to sanitation workers, couriers, and delivery riders braving the heat.

- RX France’s annual ‘Connected Against Hunger Challenge’ saw 60 colleagues log over 27,500 km through sport, smashing records to raise €19,200 for Action Against Hunger.

- From clearing pollinator gardens to hauling 143 pounds of trash from Stamford’s waterfront, RX volunteers rolled up their sleeves to give back to their communities.

 

I volunteered with Shepherd’s Star to help them set up the Table of Hope at the Duke Street Church in Richmond. Table of Hope is a monthly community invitation to a nutritious lunch at a communal table within a safe, interactive space – reducing isolation and enhancing wellbeing. It was an extremely rewarding experience, and I feel fortunate that my work allows me to do this. I look forward to using my remaining volunteering day soon.

Working for an organisation that provides two days each year for volunteering means a lot to me. It shows that the company values community engagement and understands the importance of giving back. And it allows me to contribute to causes I care about and make a positive impact beyond my professional responsibilities.

It means the world to me that I can continue volunteering at nOURish Bridgeport. I started almost two years ago and was concerned I might not be able to keep serving in a new role. So, when I learned RX supports employees with dedicated volunteer time, I was thrilled. Helping to pack school lunches for kids at Filling in the Blanks in Norwalk and supporting landscaping projects at the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary is how I choose to use my RX volunteering hours. I believe that all children are entitled to a decent meal, and that all animals deserve a safe environment, and any difference I can make whether small or large is incredibly rewarding. By allowing us all two days to give back to our communities reassures me that RX trusts its people to create a positive impact on the community, and that they understand the difference it will make.
