Big Data London, which has been billed as the UK’s leading data and analytics event, begins this week.

More than 170 exhibitors and over 400 expert speakers will be in attendance, including representatives from Microsoft, Google, JP Morgan Chase, the Ministry of Defence and the Bank of England. 

Although it is largely aimed at businesses, the conference boasts a number of seminars that could appeal to the general public. The headline speaker is astronaut Tim Peake, who made history as the first Brit to travel to the International Space Station.

For petrolheads, British automotive company McLaren will discuss how it wins trophies by analysing the data produced by its F1 cars, which pack 300 onboard sensors.
