What advice would you give to your teenage self?
When I was younger I was extremely shy. It prevented me from doing things at different stages of my life, as I was unsure how to deal with certain situations, particularly those involving lots of people. Over time I came to realise that I was an introvert and that it was okay to be like that. Many people at Reed Exhibitions helped me to this understanding and showed me that it was ok be myself! If I could go back in time to give myself some advice it would be this – ‘be yourself and you will be fine.’ Every person is different and that is what helps us to make such special and unforgettable relationships throughout our lives.
What are you reading right now?
Enquanto isso by Fernanda Witwytzky. She talks about time and how we should live in the moment instead of continually waiting for something. Especially during the pandemic I saw a need in my life to be more productive about the challenges around family and home office life. This book is helping me to understand and to prioritize my lifestyle.
What recent podcast would you recommend?
“Imagina Juntas” for those who speak Portuguese. They discuss mental health and how to deal with the huge amount of content that we receive every day.
If you could time travel, where would you go?
To Rock in Rio 1991! To watch Guns N’ Roses and Faith no More and so many other amazing bands at the same concert would be amazing!
What is the biggest work challenge you face right now?
Being a mother and working full time in a Home Office! It has been an incredible and unique opportunity to see my daughter grow up, but it is certainly the biggest challenge I have faced in my life.
What do you enjoy most about working in events?
I love working in Digital Marketing and enabling virtual connections between our participants. Also, watching a live event taking shape during build-up is a unique experience. Seeing everything we have worked on for months come together is amazing.
What inspires you to work at RX?
People, for sure! There are so many amazing people in RX. In my team I have people who inspire me every day and teach me so many things. They are my base to face any challenge that may appear.
