About The Team  

We are a global trade show and event organizer, seeking a skilled Procurement Director to lead and optimize our procurement operation. 

 

About the Role 

 The Procurement Director will drive procurement strategies, manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent negotiation skills and strategic execution. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with company goals and event timelines. 

  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities while ensuring high-quality goods and services. 

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers. Including performing supplier service evaluations. 

  • Leading negotiations for supplier agreements, ensuring competitive pricing and value-added services. 

  • Tracking and reporting on procurement expenses, savings, and vendor performance metrics. 

  • Sourcing materials, equipment, and services specific to RX business needs. 

  • Support divisional & event P&Ls, ensuring cost-effective solutions. 

  • US based individual contributor, liaising with procurement shared service resources. This will involve leveraging skills and expertise from peers and similar groups across the RELX network. 

  • Work closely with internal partners across other RX functional groups to form strong relationships, share learnings & achieve the best outcomes 

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including health and safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing practices. 

 

Requirements 

  • Have experience in procurement, with the ability to leverage internal resources to support and expedite processes. 

  • Possess strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract law, and supplier management. 

  • Have a proven track record of cost savings and strong negotiation skills. Experience of end to end buying cycle. 

  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 

  • Have strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities. 

  • Be able to manage multiple stakeholders and build strong relationships. 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization including C suite. 

  • Demonstrate strategic thinking skills with a focus on operational efficiency and cost control.
